Reply of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Israeli Regime
Before the First Committee of the 77th Session of the UNGA
New York, 12 October 2022
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Mr. Chair,
I am compelled to take the floor to reject the blatant lies and baseless allegations made by the representative of the apartheid regime of Israel against my country.
In yet another desperate endeavor, the representative of the Israeli regime has attempted to conceal the regime’s destabilizing, malicious and terrorist activities in the region. Such activities include covert operations, subversive and disruptive measures against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, as well as the cowardly and abhorrent assassination of innocent Iranian citizens and scientists to further its sinister objectives in the region.
It is ironic that this terrorist regime, which has a deplorable track record of developing, producing and stockpiling various types of weapons of mass destruction, has maliciously accused Iran of violating Security Council resolution 2231 (2015), despite the fact that it has repeatedly committed flagrant and systematic violations of this resolution over the course of several years.
The Israeli regime has used every opportunity to threaten and dismantle the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as well as undermine the implementation of resolution 2231 (2015) by the States Members of the United Nations. As a result, Israel’s allegations regarding Iran are completely absurd, irrelevant and baseless.
We believe that the international community must compel the Israeli regime to cease all of its destabilizing and adventuristic activities in the region.
The Israeli regime has threatened the regional countries with nuclear annihilation and still continues its threats to use force against Iran, the most recent of which is a statement made by the Israeli National Security Adviser, Head of the Israeli National Security Council and Minister of Defense in which they confirmed responsibility for Israel’s subversive operations and terrorist acts within Iranian territory.
These statements constitute not only a flagrant violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations but also a blatant admission of responsibility for Israel’s terrorist and destructive operations against Iran. It also proves that the Israeli regime is responsible for such criminal as well as terrorist acts and must be held accountable in order to bear the consequences.
I thank you Mr. Chair.
