Reply of the Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran
to the statement by the Israeli Regime & Morocco
Before the 4th Committee, UNGA 76
New York, 3 November 2021
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
Mr. Chairman,
As it was expected, the representative of the Israeli Regime played the victim card while making false, unfounded and baseless accusations against others, including my Country. It is ironic that a regime famous for unlawful acts, apartheid policies and war crimes, which are documented by the UN, allows itself to accuse other countries in such a sinister way.
This victim mindset is the standard practice of the Israeli regime’s officials as they habitually attempt to portray themselves as innocent. Deception is a card in their deck of actions.
Their shameful objective is clear: to cover up their expansionist policies; to hide their destabilizing practices in the region; to conceal their criminal conducts; and to deflect attentions away from their brutalities, particularly against Palestinians.
It is worth mentioning during its brutal 11-day war on Gaza in May 2021, Israel killed 256 Palestinians, including 66 children and 40 women.
A regime that is not a state but a terrorist garrison not only against the Palestinians but against all of the independent and freedom-loving countries in the world.
Therefore, it would not be unreasonable to consider Tel Aviv as the capital of terror and the safe house of child-killing terrorist butchers.
The record of this regime is so tainted and stained with the blood of countless lives, that all brutalities carried out during the human history against the crimes of this regime in its short but disgraceful and inauspicious life are like a drop in the ocean.
it is both shameful and disgusting that hundreds, if not thousands, of right of replies are not enough to address such evil and merciless crimes.
It is obvious that their propaganda against my country has always been a smoke screen released by them to mask their heinous acts and to divert governments and international public opinion from their land grabbing schemes and other crimes.
The Islamic Republic of Iran urges international community to take action against illegal measures taken by this regime which flagrantly violates human rights as well as the resolutions of the United Nations.
Mr. Chairman
Concerning false claims raised by the representative of Morocco on the Iranian Island of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb and the Lesser Tunb in the Persian Gulf.
The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates its sovereignty over these three Islands and underlines that the decision with regard to and measures undertaken in those islands by the Iranian officials, have always been taken on the basis of the principles of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of my country.
Therefore, the Morocco’s unfounded claim constitutes a flagrant interference in Iran’s domestic affairs, in violation of the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states as enshrined in the United Nations Charter, and is categorically rejected.
The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always pursued a policy of friendship and good-neighborliness towards all its neighboring countries and in this context, once again expresses its readiness to engage in bilateral talks with the United Arab Emirates with a view to continuing to strengthen bilateral relations and removing any misunderstanding that may exist between the two countries.
Meanwhile, it is obvious that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the three islands are not negotiable.
I thank you
