No. 1650001                                                                                                   27 June 2023

Excellency,

I strongly and unequivocally reject and condemn the spread of misinformation and baseless allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran in relation to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the cynical attempts to falsely link these unfounded allegations to UNSC Resolution 2231 (2015), as made in a joint statement by the United States Permanent Representative on behalf of the United Kingdom, France, Albania, and Ukraine at the UN Security Council Stakeout on 23 June 2023, as well as in statements made by representatives of these countries during the Security Council briefing on the same day, focusing on the agenda item of maintaining peace and security in Ukraine (S/PV.9357).

Iran has consistently and clearly made its position on these unfounded allegations through multiple communications addressed to the UN Secretary-General and the UN Security Council, including in a letter dated 12 June 2023 (S/2023/429).

I would be grateful if you would circulate the present letter as a document of the Security Council.

Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.

Amir Saeid Iravani
